In spite of intensive staff training, technical support and sheer "grit" we are still experiencing a glitch with the merging of data from our sattlitte offices into the master unit. We are an EOC program serving only adults -- we have 3 major problems
we've been unable to solve:
1. When the data is merged no students are listed as High school without postsecondary -- the numbers are correct at each remote site, when merged the numbers are distributed between the categories of
High school dropout and Postsecondary dropout. All the computers have been checked and rechecked for accuarcy and all match. The problem exists in the merging. Numbers of students are correct but categories are wrong.
2. Services provided are attributed to the wrong couselor -- this again appears only with the merging of the data into the master file. It is correct on the individual remotes.
3. When data is merged, the message appears saying "checking for duplicates" but duplicate files appear. Can't duplicate soc. sec. numbers be flagged to save the time and man power of manual searches?
We serve between 1450 and 1600 clients per year and these glitches are causing us major heartburn.
